Wave Bye Bye Bye ~5 Secrets of Home Staging

October 11, 2018 | Written by: lawrence stacruz

1. BYE BYE BYE
I get it you have lived in your home for years and think it’s the most amazing place on your block but guess what? It’s not yours anymore! It’s time to break up and move on! Get a cake light some candles and bid your old home goodbye. This will help you move on & begin the decluttering process.

What does declutter mean? It means taking your whole life of 5, 10, 15 years out of your house & welcoming in a new beginning for yourself & the new owners to be. I know what you are thinking, but why? I love my red chair with the polka dots or my picture of yellow parrot’s playing cards. Guess what? It’s not about you!

So start packing up Grandmas favorite towels or dads 1980’s record collection or come to think of it put on some  N-Snyc & start singing BYE BYE BYE!

2. Neutral and Appealing
Maybe you love yellow or hot pink is your favorite color but keep in mind bright paint colors can be distracting. Neutral is best so your buyer can see all the great features of the house. For example in the photo below the windows are the main attraction. I put a little green table in for a pop of color to keep it from being too boring. Don’t worry you can paint your new place any color you would like!

3. Add Seasonal Touches
I always like to add a little seasonal touch when I am staging a property. In this case orange roses were in season. Just remember to keep the water fresh during home tours; no one wants to see dirty water. Yuck!

4. Dessert Anyone?
To appeal to buyers senses why not add a plate of homemade chocolate chip cookies or gooey cupcakes with swirls of frosting. Have no time to bake? No problem go to your local supermarket and pick up a few little treats. Be sure to put them on a nice plate with a little note that says: Home is where the cookies are. You will have them eating out of the palm of your hand!

5. Last But Not Least
This probably is the most important one of all. Remain Calm! This can be a very stressful time and there maybe times where you wonder how you will get through it all. You planned everything perfectly; you got this I believe in you! Do as the ocean would do, Beach more and Worry less. Can you say Buy Buy Buy!
